Description: Each tribe has their own version of Rapé and often it is known by different names, the Yawanawa for example call it Rume.  Whatever the name, the purpose is similar between tribes, it used to ground and center before sending prayers or talking to the spirits.  The tribes consider Rapé an important and sacred medicine and they take great care while producing it.  Hand made in small batches from natural materials collected from the Jungle, the ingredients of Rapé vary from tribe to tribe. Generally fermented tobacco is combined with a tree ash of some kind, in the case of the Yawanawa this is the ash from the Tsunu tree.

The ingredients are naturally sun dried, then pounded in a large pestle, sieved, and re-pounded until the right consistency is reached.  The process of making Rapé is both time consuming and labor intensive but done with a lot of joy. The tribes usually sing and pray throughout the production of their Rapé, asking the spirits for healing and enlightenment for those that use it.

Anecdotal reports of Rapé usage talk of the easing of respiratory problems, such as allergic rhinitis, colds and sinusitis.  On the mental level it is known to lift one out of depression and as a general tonic for the quality of mind.  Spiritually the tribes say Rapé offers a special protection from spiritual attacks and that is opens ones perception to Spirit.  More detailed Rapé information can be found here.

Usage: It is best used in small amounts, especially in the beginning.  Once or twice a day and self-delivered through a Kuripe pipe or from a friend through a Tepi pipe. More detailed Rapé information can be found here.

Testimonial: Greg Prasker

“I received my Sananga from you during the summer to try to fix my vision. I went to the eye doctor today and my astigmatism has almost completely corrected itself and my vision is almost 20/20. I no longer need contact lenses or glasses. So grateful. Thank you, thank you, thank you, my friend”

Yawanawá Sananga Eye Drops

Sananga (lightning in the eyes) is a traditional medicine of the Yawanawá and is made by mashing the roots of a bushy jungle plant (Kanapa Vêtxexeni ) with clean water. Traditionally used for generations Sananga is believed to help people in many ways. The Yawanawá utilize Sananga not only to clear certain physical conditions but to also dilute negative thought forms and remove inharmonious elements from the energy body (aura). Sananga can be used for serious conditions such as depression, insomnia, chemical dependencies, chronic headaches, migraines and with these conditions it’s best to use Sananga daily.  With long term use, people have reported the healing of cataracts and the natural healing of astigmatism. For less problematic issues such as bacterial diseases of the eye such as conjunctivitis, sty, redness, eye irritation it can simply be used as needed. Sananga is also known to help dreaming and some people report deeper and more lucid dreams after using Sananga on a regular basis. More detailed Sananga information can be found here.
